Terms of Service

Effective date: September 18, 2026

These terms govern your use of Cast, including cast.is, the Cast web app, the Cast desktop app and related services (together, "Cast"). "We," "us" and "our" mean the operator of Cast. By creating an account or using Cast, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Cast.

1. Who can use Cast

  • You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
  • If you use Cast for an organization, you confirm that you can accept these terms for it, and "you" includes that organization.

2. Your account

  • Cast signs you in with a link sent to your email. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your email account secure.
  • Give us accurate information, and tell us promptly if you think someone else is using your account.

3. Plans, billing and cancellation

  • Cast offers free and paid plans as described on our pricing page. Plan allowances, such as AI credits and saved models, may change.
  • Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically each billing period until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time from Manage billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Unused allowances do not carry over to the next period.
  • Prices do not include taxes unless stated. We may change prices with advance notice, and a change applies from your next billing period.

4. Your content

  • "Your content" means the models, data, files, questions and other material you put into Cast, and the models, code and results Cast generates for you.
  • You keep ownership of your content.
  • You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process and display your content to operate Cast for you, including by sending it to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You also allow us to keep and use your AI requests and the models Cast generates to analyze how Cast is used and to train, evaluate and improve AI models and Cast's features. This permission continues after your account closes for material we already hold.
  • You are responsible for your content, and you must have the right to use any data you upload, paste or connect.
  • If you share a model, anyone with the link can view it, including its code if you choose to show it. Share links on the free plan may expire.

5. AI features

  • Cast's assistant and research tools generate answers, code and models automatically. Their output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check important results yourself.
  • AI requests are processed by third-party AI providers, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Do not use Cast's AI features to create unlawful, harmful or infringing material.

6. Not professional advice

  • Cast is a modeling tool. Its calculations, forecasts, simulations, benchmarks, market data and AI output are for information only and are not financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting or engineering advice.
  • You are responsible for decisions you make using Cast. Consult a qualified professional before relying on any result.
  • Market data and other third-party data are provided as is and may be delayed or inaccurate.

7. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
  • upload malware, or try to break, overload or get around Cast's security or usage limits;
  • scrape, copy, resell or frame Cast, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows;
  • use Cast to build a competing product;
  • share account access to get around plan limits;
  • use share links or data connectors to send spam or to harm others.

8. Cast's property

  • Cast, including its software, design, formula libraries, templates and name, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms give you only the right to use Cast as they allow.
  • If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

9. Third-party services

Cast works with services we do not control, including payment processing, AI providers, market-data providers and connectors you add. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.

10. Changes to Cast and these terms

  • We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Cast.
  • We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and for a material change we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
  • If you keep using Cast after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

11. Suspension and termination

  • You may stop using Cast at any time. To close your account, email us.
  • We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or when we must for legal or security reasons.
  • Sections 4, 6 and 12 through 16 continue after your access ends.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, Cast is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of liability

  • To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, arising from or related to Cast.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to Cast is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Cast in the 12 months before the claim or US$100.
  • Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your content, your misuse of Cast or your breach of these terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or Cast will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.

16. General

  • These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Cast.
  • If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.
  • You may not transfer these terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
