Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Cast collects, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It covers cast.is, the Cast web app, the Cast desktop app and related services (together, "Cast"). "We," "us" and "our" mean the operator of Cast.

Summary

We collect your email address, the models and data you put into Cast, your AI requests, your plan and billing status, and basic technical data.
We keep your AI requests and the models Cast generates, and we use them to analyze and improve Cast, including to train AI models.
To answer AI requests, we send them to third-party AI providers.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

What we collect

Information you give us

Account: your email address, your plan, and your usage, such as AI credits used and models saved. If you join a team workspace, your membership and role.
Content: the models you write or save, their results, versions, titles and share links; data you upload or paste; research notes; and everything you type into the AI assistant or research tools.
Payments: when you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment details. We receive and keep your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and your plan status. We never receive your full card number.
Messages: anything you send us by email.

Information collected automatically

Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and error logs, recorded by our hosting provider and our own servers.
Browser storage: Cast keeps your sign-in session and some settings in your browser using cookies and local storage. Examples include your theme, local research notes, saved versions and any market-data key you enter.

Information from services you connect

If you connect a market-data provider or add a data connector, our servers fetch the data you request.
If you connect an accounting system through our integration partner, we receive the records you choose to import.

How we use it

To run Cast: sign you in, save and share your models, run calculations, and answer AI requests.
To bill you and apply plan limits.
To keep Cast secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
To analyze how Cast is used and to improve it.
AI requests and generated models: We keep the questions and instructions you send to Cast's AI features ("AI requests"), along with the models, code and results Cast generates in response. We use them to analyze and improve Cast, including to train, evaluate and improve AI models.
To contact you about your account, billing, and changes to Cast or this policy.
To comply with the law.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed to run Cast:

Hosting and infrastructure: Vercel hosts Cast, Supabase stores data and handles sign-in, and an email delivery provider sends sign-in links.
Payments: Stripe processes subscriptions and payments.
AI providers: AI requests, the model code and results sent with them, and any data you ask the AI to analyze go to the provider of the AI model in use, directly or through OpenRouter. Providers include OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Alibaba (Qwen), DeepSeek and Moonshot AI. Some of these providers process data outside the United States.
Data providers: market-data services and other connectors you use, to fetch the data you request.
People you choose: anyone with a share link can see what you shared. Members of a team workspace can see models saved to it.
Legal and safety: when the law requires it, or to protect Cast, our users or others.
Business transfers: if Cast is merged, acquired or sold, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

Account and content: while your account is open, and for a reasonable period after it closes, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
AI requests and generated models: we keep them for analysis and to train and improve AI models, and we may keep them after your account closes. Material already used to train a model cannot be removed from that model.
Billing records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Backups and logs: deleted on their normal cycles.

Reviewing and changing your information

You can view, edit and delete your models inside Cast.
To review, correct, export or delete other personal information, or to close your account, email russell@zavient.com. We will respond as the law requires.
You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time. Doing so signs you out and removes settings stored there.

Do Not Track

Cast does not track your activity across other websites. Because of that, Cast works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

Tracking by other companies

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers, so other companies cannot collect information about your activity across websites through Cast. Stripe's checkout and billing pages open on Stripe's own site and follow Stripe's privacy policy.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure.

Children

Cast is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

Cast is operated from the United States. Your information is processed in the United States and, through some AI providers, in other countries.

Changes to this policy

We will post any change here with a new effective date. For a material change, we will also notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
